Entering Malaysia via Sarawak

Does anyone have experience of entering Malaysia with an international flight first landing at Kuching (or any other Sarawak entry point)?

I've done domestic flights from KLIA to Kuching and am familiar with those immigration procedures. Just wondering if you are entering Malaysia at Kuching without going to West Malaysia first, whether Immigration is more or less rigorous than at KLIA, for example?

1) Did you get departure stamp at KLIA when you left for Kuching?

2) Did you get arrival stamp at Kuching airport?

3) How many days were you allowed to stay in East Malaysia after you entered Kuching?

1) No. It's a domestic flight and there are no immigration procedures at KLIA, coming or going.

2) You have to pass through Sarawak Immigration at Kuching airport. Your passport will be stamped. On exit, your boarding card will be stamped but not your passport.

3) Same validity as the West Malaysia tourist stamp that is already in your passport.
