Dear all,

Hello. I am going to shift in Netherlands from February 2019 onward on work permit visa and my family will also join me there (Spouse & 4 year daughter) . I just need to know do our new born baby will get the Dutch nationality if born here? We both parents are Asian (Indians). Kindly suggest the process how we can apply for Dutch Nationality for our new born baby...

Thanks & Regards,
Manoj Lamba

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Your baby will not get Dutch nationality, the Dutch government use "Jus sanguinis" to determine nationality.  Your baby will inherit whatever nationality you and the babies mother have at the time of its birth.  You should ensure that you consult with your home countries and check what actions you need to take to register your child's birth and apply for a passport as soon as possible.

Hope this helps.
