American Seeking DAFT Residency Permit

Post new topic

courtneycostello

Hi!

I'm an American currently living in Dublin. My Irish visa expires in May and my number one choice is to move to Amsterdam. I've been researching a lot and have come across DAFT and I am thinking this is my best bet.

Has anyone successfully got this type of visa and can help explain it to me a little more?

I am hoping to do remote work while also running my startup on the side.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I haven't done it, but we've had a few people on the Forums previously who have asked about it; hopefully, some who have used DAFT will notice your post and respond.  This link will take you to the Dutch Government (IND) website that gives you some information that may help you.

You basically need:

a valid US passport,
an antecedents certificate to prove you don't have a criminal background;
to do business between the Netherlands and the United States. Or you develop and lead the general business of an American or Japanese company in the Netherlands. You have invested or are in the process of investing a "significant capital" in the business.

The link explains it all.

Hope this helps.
