Hi there everyone,

I am interested in moving to Medellin, Colombia as it is a city which greatly appeals to me from what I have read. I am a writer/editor/ by profession and I wish to find work in Medellin.
Could someone assist me by explaining how easy/hard it is to find work or where I might look etc...
What about gaining work permits?

Also, is Medellin a good city in which to reside?

Many thanks,

Ben

Do you speak spanish and your level ofwritten  Spanish is of such a high level that you  can edit in Spanish and are willing to work at a fraction of  the wage in the US in the very unlikely event that the organixzation will hire an American over a qualified Colombian?

The only English language service I know in Medellin is Colombian Reports, and they have financial issues.

Like I like to tell people (but they dont want to hear). The Colombian educated professionals are the ones dieing to get into the US for better job opportunities,... not the other way around.

I think your best prospect, to be honest, is working on-line.

Thank you for your reply, very interesting and honest I am sure.

My Spanish is quite strong, I might indeed stand a higher chance as such...

It would appear then that many a Colombian has bought into this idea of the USA being the answer...

I am in touch with Colombia Reports... as I had a negative response from the Medellin Herald.

I am British however and not American, not that I expect that to make any difference.

I will take your advice on board. Thank you again.
