Is it eligible for EP visa holders to have part-time jobs in Malaysia?

Post new topic

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask whether it is possible for me to have a legal part-time job in Malaysia while I am holding an EP visa (working permit) which is processed by my company.

In particular, I work 8 hours per day, 5 days a week and my company support for my 1-year working visa in Malaysia. Then, I would like to apply for a part-time job at a coffee shop after my work. I wonder if it is eligible to earn additional income.

Please help me with much thanks.

I was told that the your EP only allows you to work for the company that supported it. I know that my spousal visa allowed me to work only for the university that I requested permission to work for (had to supply the offer letter to immigration, then they add the authorization to work).

So the simple answer is no, you can't work a part time job.
