Hi everyone,

I've been working in Malaga for 6 months now and I'm really struggling to buy a new car. I've got a good salary from reputable company but not on car dealer was ok to start financing because I don't have enough work history in spain (the lower i got was 10 month by Kia, and then again, with little chances of success).

I could buy a second hand car, but i don't want to take the risk.

Has anyone encountered this situation before?

thanks, matt

Just a thought.

Have you considered trying to get a bank loan based on your total income/work record

It appears you are French so you may have worked elsewhere.

Going back many years I got a bank loan in U.K. as at that time a bank loan was at a much lower interest rate than a car loan .

You could try leasing, which is only another description of long term renting.

I would try and avoid second hand, although illegal it’s a clocker’s paradise.

I may be wrong but could you check to see if this is my stalker.  Thanks.  John

yeah I've asked my french bank who's upset because my salary is being paid in a spanish account... so it's a nogo there. Also tried looking at long term leasing/renting, same issue as the buying.

Second car would be a quick solution, just so I can make it over the year in spain... i did not see this issue coming :(

thanks!

So much for the EU spirit of treating all EU citizens fairly  which some would like to think exists for the benefit of all of us

I would still push the EU national angle

Not that I had a vote in U.K. but you might suspect how I would have voted !
