Moving to KLCC in three month's time with a 3-year old baby

Post new topic

ThuyDang

Dear forum,

We are of Vietnamese family. My husband is offered a job in KLCC, and his company is based in Kapar. We have no ideas where to live so that we won't have hard time for traving from and to work? Is it good to live in a condos or a private house? Are there many kindergartens around for a 3-year old baby? What else i can do there if my son is sent to nursery? We are also planning to have a second baby next year, please kindly send us any advice that we can take it into consideration.

Please also kindly estimate how much we would expense for a month?

Cost of living for a family of 3.
Monthly electricity bill.
Monthly food expense.
Monthly transporation expense.

We would also like to have savings every month.

Any input or advice would be very much appreciated?

Thanks,

Thuy from Vietnam :)

The basic thing is to come to Malaysia first. Everything you need is here. Generally, cost of living is low and affordable. You can choose where you wish to live given the extent of your resources. Malaysia is a nice place to be. Good luck and safe journey as you come

Hi Thuy,

food : almost similar to Vietnam

baby : some condos have kindergarden, but most of expatriates here have maids (4M VND / month). for later, international schools may be expensive.

housing : from 1000RM-6000RM depending on the standard, for 2000-3000RM u get something very decent not far from KLCC.

transport : car? (expensive to buy and rent, and lot of traffic jam at office hours) taxi? (journey 5-15RM) train? (journey 1-4RM)

let me know if u have more specific questions or information, as i dont know much about your salary and expectations i just give general information...:)

oh sorry,

condo : very convenient, lot of facilities (can have swimming pool, tennis court, restaurant, grocery,...) and security guards.

house : i dont know much, but can be nice in expat area with facilities around, but should be careful about safety as robberies may happen.
