Hello
Does the employees have the right to hold our passport? As far as I know they can’t do that. Is there any local website that I can cross check ?

Yes, employees have the right to hold their passport. It is illegal for employers to retain your passport. There was even an announcement a few years ago by the Ministry of Labor and Social development on this. Employers can be fined for retaining employee passports.
