Any Expat Refrigeration Engineers in LA?

Hi,

My bf worked as Industrial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer/Designer in Russia. He is moving to LA soon and I wanted to ask if anyone has experience in finding job in this field in the U.S? I would really appreciate if someone could share some recommendations on how to confirm the foreign degree here as well as what else is needed to find job in this field here in the U.S/Cali? I hope he doesn't need to start studying all over again and can just translate his diploma.

WES is widely used and accepted for "translating" foreign degrees.
Finding a job is the same as everywhere else - networking, networking. Who knows someone who knows someone. Public media such as LinkedIn, industry blogs/forums, job boards, job fairs, direct applications via company sites, young professionals mixers, ... . A well written resume is a must!
