Hi,

I have moved to KL 2days back and I have moved here for an employment with an MNC @ Bukit Bintang.

I'm a single expat.

Currently I'm staying in company provided guest house. I have to find accommodation ASAP.

I could find some sharing rooms available in Brickfields, but I have been advised that it's not safe to commute at night in KL.

So my question is how safe is Brickfields in above situation?!

Looking forward for your kind responses.☺️

Brickfields, whilst an absolute heaven for curry fans, is way too far out for working in BB. The MRT is good but stops at the market so it's a bus or a taxi at rush hour from there.
I have to agree with Gravitas, try to find a pad near work, preferably walking distance.
One thing I noticed in Malaysia, many blocks of flats are single race only so you might want to find an Indian block - I found that little gem of information when I was considering Malaysia as a home some years ago.
BB is generally safe as long as you stay on the main roads - the side streets and alleys often have pondlife hanging around.

Go to Brickfields for the food.
Stay in Brickfields to use KL Sentral.
Those were the days when thugs abound.
Now they come in the shape of a "taxi driver" (sic)

BB is not too far from (in my books)
Just as long it fits your budget & time.
And commuting to work does have advantages.
Brickfields though do still have it's red-light-district.
