Property Restoration

Hi
Looking for any advice or guidance on property restoration in Le Marches, I have been given a guide price per SqM for restoring a structually sound building, the price seemed extreemly high (but it was via the agent).
Are there any major pitfalls to avoid or serious differences between building in the UK and in Italy, I was advised that properties must be 'earthquake proof'
