Moving to Thailand- not for the women

MattSS

Hello,

I've recently got back from Thailand from work as a Saturation Diver over in Asia, and the North Sea. Ive been wanting to move to Thailand since my first trip there when I was 12.

I have a very safe amount of money saved up to purchase a home/condo with a budget of around 29,000,000 baht. But being younger, I've been thinking it would be a much smarter idea to purchase multiple as in around 10 condos, around Bangkok, and Phuket area for residual income, and capital.

Ive been looking into lots of condo developments, lots of which are around 1.2-3.1M bhat, but also offer adequate rental income as either a long time rental or vacation rental.

I am not interested in moving to Thailand for the women or nightlife, I also haven't been able to find anyone who lives there full time as a US citizen, I've met a few french, and german expats, but no US expats. And would absolutely love information on where the best places to buy property would be, I've ridden a motorcycle across the country but being a diver, its hard to leave the beautiful coastline.

I have a meeting at the local Thai embassy in Portland, OR this coming week to discuss ways to purchase property, multi year visas, and laws. Any extra information would be greatly appreciated

Hi Matt,

I’m from Chicago, and now living in Phuket. I owned rental properties in the U.S. in the past.  My son has lived in Thailand for many  years, in both Phuket and Bangkok. He rented Condos before buying a home. He has a full schedule, but might be a helpful resource for you.
