Hi,

I'm a 46 year old Englishman living in Hurghada, Egypt, and feel it's time for a change.

Does anyone here have experience of living in Goa or Kerala?  I believe I would need to renew my visa every 6 months.

I do not need work, I work remotely so internet is very important.

Would a budget of $1500 a month suffice for a modest lifestyle?  I know a few (quite a few) years ago I rented a 4 bed house in Colva Beach for £60/month.  This would be unrealistic now I know, but it's the logistics of living there that I'm interested in.

I've been to Goa many times and love the place, never visited Kerala but I've been told I'd love it.

Thanks for any advice in advance,

LC

Thanks for the replies folks,

I'm just reviewing my situation in here and won't be moving anywhere before September, but I do miss India.

I just worry about the monsoon season, as I've never lived through one there, and brownouts would cause a huge problem with my work.

Thanks again ;)
