Please could someone tell me a good place to buy an induction hob in France? Do they have somewhere like Currys or Best buy? Many thanks,

Darty will be the best bet. But select a brand that is well known and be keen on the warranty. Otherwise in many shops you may end up buying knockoffs for cheap, but terrible quality.
