Hello friends, my question is if I have travel document and  permesso di soggiorno of italy, can I visit spain? Looking for your response .
       Goitom. With regards.

Johncar

My reply seems to have disappeared.  So here we go again

It would appear you have a residence permit
( permesso di soggiorno).   If that is correct then you may travel to all countries in the Schengen Area, which includes Spain.

You will not need a visa, but probably a valid passport and of course your certificate proving your residence status

Shamawi

Yes I have permesso soggiorno, travel document and residence permit.

Johncar

You say you have permesso soggiorno and residence permit.  So what is permesso soggiorno ?

Shamawi

Permesso soggiorno as far as I understood, it is a permit that I AM accepeted in italy in general. But residence permit is the paper that I receive for specific town and house where I am residing.
Thank you for your prompt answer.

Johncar

To save confusion.

In spain one needs a residence permit, as required by EU law, to live in the EU.  I therefore would think that applies across the EU

In spain if one has a residence permit then they are required to register at their town hall as being resident in that town/ city

It would appear that is the same situation in Italy

It is the government certificate permitting one to reside in an EU country, that allows one to travel within the Schengen Area,  not the confirmation of your address issued by a town hall,

You will be able to visit Spain up to 90 days but not permitted to do any work.

Ok ,thanks !
