Best cities for retirement in Indonesia

Bhavna

Hello everyone,

An increasing amount of people want to spend their retirement abroad. Would you consider giving a few tips to those looking into Indonesia for their retirement?

What are the most attractive cities for retirees in Indonesia?

Why are these the best cities in Indonesia for retirement (quality of life, cost of living, climate, health, security, etc.)?

Are there any specific areas in Indonesia where there are special retirement schemes or retirement-friendly residential areas?

Are there any activities suitable for retirees in Indonesia?

Do you have any tips on where to start looking or how to choose a suitable city for one’s retirement in Indonesia?

If you have, yourself, chosen to spend your retirement abroad, please tell us what city you have chosen and why?

Please share your experience.

Honestly i would avoid many parts of indonesia ,because of the incessant din 5 times a day .

Ubudian

For what it's worth, the largest association of retired folks (and with over 38 million members) is the AARP...the American Association of Retired Persons.

Each year it provides a list of the 10 best places in the world to retire.  Very often, Bali is on that list.

Within Bali, I would pick Ubud as the best spot...but I freely admit to my personal bias for Ubud.   ;)
