Disclosure of mental health status

Missyblue

I'm currently in the process of applying for a job in the UAE. On the medical form they ask if you suffer from anxiety or are on any medication for it. I'm just wondering will it go against me if I declare it. I would really appreciate any advice people have

In the UAE, they don't do medical exam or check for mental illness (on the in-country medical).  And even in countries where they do, like Bahrain, it's more of a check the box exercise.  You are probably referring to the GAMCA medical.

I would not declare it as per law, UAE won't mark you unfit because of it but GAMCA WILL.  There are many mental health patients in the UAE including serious cases like bipolar, schizophrenia etc and they work & live normal lives on treatment.
