Issues While changing Jobs when EP about to be Expired

Post new topic

Hi Expat Community Team,

I'm currently working in a company on a contract and my contract is about to end by 06-Aug-2019 and it's the last working day for me as well.
Already holding an offer from another company with joining date as 15-Aug-19. My current company is ready to give me NOC/Release letter. So, will it be possible for me to stay here while my new company processing my new EP Visa? if yes, then how?
Also, in case if I have to move out of Malaysia, what will happen to my cimb bank salary account??
Will it be closed even though I'll be coming back to Malaysia to join a new company? or will it be active for some particular time even though the person don't have any valid EP and not in the country?

Hi Sai,
For applying for EP by changing the company there are two ways,
1) take NOC letter from working company and leave Malaysia, apply freshly one more EP by new company, it's mandatory to be out of country for new EP in this case.
2) there is possibility of transferring EP from company to company, for this you have to discuss openly with new company HR, he will explain u the requirements. In this both companies have to help to process your EP with clearance certificate by old company. Best person to cross check this process is any of the agent through whom your present company is applied your past EP
3) About bank account, yes this will be active & u may use it after your arrival
