Hi does anyone know of a good garage near Liria or vilamarxant great could check my motorhome over a get it itv tested, the Uk mot has just ran out on it.

An ITV test  on a U.K. reg vehicle, if you can get one,  would have no legal relevance for any purpose whatsoever

For it to be legal, so you can drive in on any road in the EU,   you must get an MOT in U.K.

The only way around it would be to import it into spain and put it on Spanish plates.  And that is very difficult and expensive

Hi , that’s what I’m planning on doing , is to put it onto Spanish plates, I have already had a quote and it’s reasonable, the problem I have is finding a local garage that will check it over and get the itv test done

OK.  There is really no need to get a pre check.   If it does not pass the ITV then, unless it is dangerous, you have a couple of weeks to get it fixed and then get a free retest

If you are hoping to pass then I assume you have changed the lights to comply with Spanish Regs

As Johncar says - the Spanish use the ITV as a pre-test. Last year I took my car to a garage to get a "pre-MOT" check and THEY told me to take it to the ITV to find out what work is necessary. In the end I had to take it 3 times to the ITV (3rd time costs extra 12euros or so). This year it passed 1st time despite many faults (faults that the ITV does not test).
BTW I assume your truck is deisel, good idea is to buy a bottle of deisel "cleaner" additive and give it a good run before the ITV, this cleaner will cut down the exhaust emissions and (in my case) made the difference between pass and fail.
Of course it's difficult to imagine taking a UK-plate vehicle for an ITV.

You have to register your vehicle as being Spanish to put it through an ITV test!

Martin.  Roy answered that a few couple of posts ago

Hi John,  yes I realised that and thought I had deleted it,  obviously not!
