Reading habits in France

Post new topic

Bhavna

Hello everyone,

Books can be your greatest companions whether you have already settled in France or are now planning your move. Are you an avid or occasional reader? We would like to know more about your reading habits.

What type of reading do you enjoy? Do you read novels, comics, magazines, newspapers, etc.?

Where do you purchase or borrow books in France (bookstores, online, library subscription, etc.)? Do you prefer digital reading?

Do you have an average budget devoted to reading in France? Do you buy books or pay a library membership fee?  Do you spend more or less than in your country of origin?

In what languages can you find the books that you usually read?

What books or magazines would generally be found on your bedside table?

Thanks for participating,

Bhavna

I mostly read by internet and I also take advantage of the free newspaper available by the metro stations.  Also I borrow books from the library.

I use subscribe to the médiatique, haven't renewed this year. I prefer paper books however I don't have a lot of space to store books, so it's the kindle for me. My kindle is ancient, a hand me down.

I read in French and English. At the moment I am going through a Terry Pratchett marathon. I want to be able to read as Gaeilge in the future.

I don't read magazines or newspapers. I'll pick up a graphic novel every once in a while.
