Can a foreigner set up a business/register a company in Mauritius?

I'm planning to move to Mauritius. But I don't know about the laws there. Should I apply to register a company before I arrive there and/or I must apply when I arrived there? Another thing, should I get tourist visa or business visa?

It's way better to do things when you are here itself to avoid any mishaps with formalities and procedures.

You can come on a tourist visa (depending on the length of stay you will be granted) and study the business environment first and then kick start everything.

Thanks for info. But I think with tourist visa I must have confirmed ticket back to home. I don't know if they will extend my tourist visa. Maybe I don't reach to do all the paperwork within short time.
