1. Name 3 best well-known Indonesian street foods according to you.

Tempe kemul (Pro. Tempay kamool)
Mie onklok (Shaken noodles)
Pisang goreng (Fried banana in batter)

Perhaps not the most famous as the top two are Wonosobo specials, but these are probably my favourites.

2. Which are some unusual dishes that you have discovered ?

Way too many to mention but  the ones I dislike most are things that use entrails or skin.

3. What makes up the typical breakfast in Indonesia?

Things like yellow rice with tempe (Nasi kuning) or a sloppy rice dish (Bubur ayam) with chicken are probably the most popular but there are few social norms so you can have whatever you fancy and nobody will really care.

4. Name 3 of your favourite festive dishes.

Weddings tend to have goat meat cooked in a variety of ways - I love the stuff. Other events have special foods such as breaking the fast in Ramadam with dates, but I don't like them much so I rarely bother.

5. According to you, which essential ingredient defines Indonesian cuisine?

No competition here - Chili.
