Hi
I'm married to an eu citizen who moved to NL and is registered there. I was told that I need to apply for a facilitation visa in order to get there and attend my appointment at IND. I applied at vfs but the processed it as a tourist visa because on the visa facilitation checklist under assessment it states that I have have to provide them the travel itinerary of my eu spouse but my spouse is already in NL so I couldn't provide that. Is there an alternative? I spoke to the embassy but they suggested the my spouse goto IND and apply for my residence permit and send the application received document to me and I can use that but when spoken to IND they said I have to apply for my permit in person...
It's getting a bit confusing so I would appreciate any info on this matter.
Hi and welcome to the Forum.
There is a scheme where your partner can sponsor your application; I don't have access to my links at the moment but if you tell your partner to check out the IND website he/she will find it quite easily.
Hope this helps.

Hi
Is it the 7518 form? If yes, any idea how long would the whole process take?
Thanks
He/she can apply on line. The process takes up to 90 days once you have submitted everything.
So my facilitation visa was rejected because
-Sufficient justification for the purpose and circumstances of the intended stay was not provided
-Your intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa could not be ascertained
I was told by the embassy here that there was some miscommunication with the application of my visa because the reasons given don't apply to a facilitation visa application. I filled out my application while I was on the phone with the embassy but they still processed it wrong. I think I got rejected because I selected "visiting family and friends" on the form and my stay was for 90 days. Any idea if that could be the reason?
It would be great if someone could shed some light on how to apply for a Facilitation Visa?
Hi again.
You will get a letter telling you why your application was rejected.
My advice remains as I advised you previously; get your wife to apply online as your sponsor.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I did get a letter with the explanation, I just took bits from it and posted it in my previous post.
Also, I've seen the option you mentioned but for that my wife needs to be of Dutch nationality.
On the IND website there this: https://ind.nl/en/eu-eea/Pages/Family-m … ality.aspx
Thanks,

Hi again,
No, your wife does not need Dutch nationality, she needs to have Dutch residency, i.e. registered with the Gemeente and have a BSN number, when she does that, she also gets a DigiD number which allows her to go online and apply to sponsor your permit.
Hope this helps.

Hi
Yes is like that. You only can apply in person, however your spouse can start to figure out all as possible.
Do you know if with the visa facilitation you can work or make some volunteer programme??

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
I'm a bit reluctant to say yes or no. If it's a normal family style of visa where one is accompanying the other, for which one has a job in the Netherlands, then yes, you can normally work. However, if it's a short-term visa, for example, research, then you can accompany, but can't work. Volunteers are always needed everywhere around the world.
Not sure if I've helped.

@Cynic Before you give opinions, do your research very well. Your answers are not only wrong but confusing. A facilitation visa can only be applied by a Non-EU citizen in his/her own country of origin or country legally resident. You are as confused as the idiots at VFS Global who are not competent to identify various forms of visas and advise prospects accordingly. A facilitation visa cannot be applied for online. It can only be submitted in person. Thank you

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
Your post would be relevant if I had been talking about a facilitation visa, I wasn't, so I can only suggest that you read the Forum thoroughly before you start unjustified criticising. I said at the start (post 2) that I was speaking without access to my information but knew a family visa can be applied for by the sponsor online (the 7518 form that was referred to), so suggested that as a way around the predicament, all of my subsequent comments were based on that.
As for VFS global, if you have issues with the service they've provided you, then you can contact them via their website, this link will take you straight to it.
I hope this helps.

Before scolding someone you should know that we all are volunteers and most of the time we are not experts. Cynic puts so much time and effort on this forum which I stopped a long time ago: if I can find information by Google, you can do it too.
Experts at the VFS global are humans too and everyone can make mistakes.
Maybe it was a trainee or someone who just recently joined the company.
You should take a class comprehensive reading, it would benefit you.
And my advice in general:
Go with your questions to the right institution.

Around here they call it a brain fart.
I went to the “gemeente” with my wife and daughter (both registered at a “gemeente” but was told I need to apply from my home country for a MVV, got back and went to the embassy, they advised that I qualify for a facilitator visa but I need to apply in person at the IND. I am now as confused as a chameleon on a smartie box.
I do not want to fly there again but I cannot find sufficient information on the IND website to confirm this, does anybody have a link to this to explain how the process works as well as if I will be allowed to work there to provide for them?
kind regards

Is your wife an EU citizen?
If your daughter and wife lives in the Netherlands and are Dutch, you can not apply for a facilitation visa.
You should follow the MVV route which is included to learn Dutch to pass the basic integration exam.

I got the same reasoning for rejection, although I did apply for the right category. I have my receipt from the visa center and I didn't pay for the visa as the facilitation visa is free. I really don't understand this.
