Hi everybody in the forum,

I want to know what it will take to set up a public cyber cafe in Belize, I will be glad if anyone can provide me with useful info on the best area in Belize to set it up, the internet provider to use and the cost, and the cost of renting an office for this purpose.

Thanks.

Well, not to be "Debbie Downer," but join the club. Just about every village and town has an internet cafe. Some are free (like restaurants), and others charge about $1 bze for 10-15 mins.

You'll need to purchase all the computer equipment (which unless you purchase used, you will have to pay import duties on), and find a suitable space for rent, the cost of which completely depends on where you will be living.

You should really investigate business rents on your upcoming visit in August to Belize.  BTL is the only service provider, and their cost depends on speed.  They have a website, but I'm not convinced the rates are current.

Hope this helps.  Sharon
