Opening a bank account (in Sao Paulo state)

Post new topic

glimpser

I have brazilian and italian citizenship, and I've never been in Brazil.
In the (more or less) near future I am planning to open a banck account (checking) in Sao Paulo state.
Does somebody know if there are good chances for me to open it keeping my italian residence? Or do brazilian banks require proof of residency in Brazil? (something I am not planning to do before I retire - some years ahead from now)

If you are a citizen of Brasil, yes you will need proof of residence in Brazil. Utility bill, rental agreement, etc.). Also a CPF card if you do not have one. The BR Consulate can issue a CPF.
