Hi.
Would love. The share my skin experience with my fellow expats.
I have had a beautiful glowing skin all my life because I am from a country with soft water.
But moving here in Jordan was quite a hell for my skin . I got acne and pimple outbreaks tried everything from the cosmetic stores to pharmacies to natural products but it just worsened the situation. I moved from glowing skin to rough scared face. My face my neck and my back were at it.
So I just sat down and took a one week break from all these and decided to just do it simply. Because I realised I was doing it all wrong after realising the water here is hard water and my skin is a sensitive one.
And this is how I got my beautiful glowing skin back.
I bought Dettol original bar soap. A soft face towel. So I washed it gently with Luke warm water.
Then I pat it dry and applied fresh cucumber juice on my face. I did this every morning and evening but god it took me a whole week before I could start seeing any results but I was patient.
After two weeks when I felt there was hope I moved to using cucumber at night only.and then olive oil in the morning hours.
I did this for 6weeks. And my face was almost there.
Now I was my face the same way once a Day and apply olive oil.
And it's beautiful.
It was worth the wait and cheap. Hope this can be of help to some of you ladies.

Thank you so much. I found that the water changed the managibility of my hair, also. My curl pattern changed became rougher and my hair became dry and began to shed alot. Began to use Keratin products which helped a lot.
I will be sure to look into the  soap.

Thank you ladies I will definitely keep this in mind

Hello,

Interesting and thank you for sharing. My pale soft skin suffered the opposite. Used to a high humidity with the air usually moist my skin with occasional outbreaks, in Jordan my skin was clear but extremely dry. To ensure it stayed moist and clean I warmed the drinking water, wetting my face with this, and then washed my face with a non-foaming creamy cleanser (no soap) and used a soft moist cloth to wipe away the excess. Whilst my skin was still moist I applied a cold cream and massaged this in and again wiped my face with the rinsed warm soft cloth. Next to moisturize. I first added oil to my skin (rose, argon, etc.) then after 5 mins I applied a rich moisturizer. This improved the texture and dryness of my skin. I also drank plenty of room-temperature water. Throughout the day I spritzed my face. I also made the most of scarves and hats when outdoors. I think the moisture in my body's skin has never returned properly. It is a harsh climate that takes adjusting to.

Dear Sunset03,

I am sorry to hear it. How can I help you?

Nothing to do except to keep replenishing. But thank you,

That's the pain we go through with sensitive skin. And changing environments.   But thank God we have learnt to help our selves out
