I am trying to find out the cheapest way to fly to Edinburgh - or at least Scotland. I'll be starting out from Coimbra, so have to factor in possible overnight stay(s) if the flights are very early/late.

Does anybody out there have a route they would recommend?

Thanks Julien - that's a new one to me - I'll give it a go!

I have some friends that fly Faro to Glasgow, these flights always seem to be very cheap.

Well - what I have found out is that the best way for me, living near Coimbra, is to fly Porto to Stansted with Ryanair, then Stansted to Edinburgh with Easyjet. The flight times are very civilised, and don't necessitate any overnight stays.

This route was passed on to me by a Scot who makes the trip regularly. I knew there had to be a way!

You have made a good choice. Ryanair and EasyJet are 2 serious companies. Cheap and comfortable. I have always used them.
