I want to ship my car from the us yo Dakar.Does anyone have an idea how much duty to pay ?  2)is it cheaper to buy a used car locally tjan import my own ?

stumpy

I found details online. You will have to pay 48% total import duty. This is calculated on the current valuation of the vehicle.
You cannot import vehicles over 8 years old.

Shipping costs range between US$2,200 to $6,800.
Best to buy a car in Dakar.

Very instructive. Thank you.

In my opinion, you better bring your car, I always bring a car,
It's not complicated
Cars here are usually destroyed and if you are going to take a new or semi new car it will be expensive you can view it online.

Where did you find info? Do you have any idea about importing cars in bulk? Would duties be less?

stumpy

Full duty payable on ALL imported vehicles.

Work with people already doing it. No fixed cost most people can accomodate with cash given all is negotiable
