Good morning everyone,

Whether it's a simple cold or a chronic illness, medication and medicine use vary from country to country and culture to culture.

When you are used to certain brands or types of drugs, being in a country like Kuwait with different rules can affect your daily well-being.

Some drugs also differ in name, price, dosage, active molecule, so we would like to hear your opinion on these issues:

Have you ever had difficulties finding familiar or useful medicines for your health in your host country?

Have you ever been faced with a shortage of medicines in Kuwait?

Would you have said that in Kuwait drugs are more or less expensive than in your home country? Do you find them more or less effective or of similar quality?

What is the place of alternative medicines in your host country? Have you ever used them?

Thank you in advance for your feedback,

Loïc

So far for a years staying here in Kuwait, i’d never experience for medicines shortage, and it’s achievable price, but not all, there’s some medicines little bit costly.

Kuwait is one of the cheapest country in Gulf. Edibles are cheaper than any other GCC state. MEDICAL care Iss being carried out by private sector and in Government hospitals and clinics.. The charges in private sector are quite higher as compare to government hospitals and clinics. The fee paid at a clinic or hospital cover doctor's consultation and medication both. Radiology was almost free now being charged with a nominal fee but it is still very cheap as compare to private hospitals.
Kwd 2 being charged in govt clinics incl consultation and medication and dressing as well. Where as in private hosp patients are being some times charged to open a file🙄 later for a GP consultation charges are between kwd 3 to kwd5 and in big private hosp kwd10.. Now  any medication which will be prescribed will be charged even if u get any sort of inj will be charged. Dressing of wound will be charged
In Govt hosp general ward (a room of 4 patients) kwd 10.00 per day it includes 3 meals (continental with multiple choice menue with fruits and drinks a day and 9am tea with snacks and afternoon tea with snacks.) further all medications and all types of blood or urine tests except radiology(in emergency all tests incl radiology is free of cost) special room kwd 50 day per room. Icu kwd 30.per day incl all. Care. When it is time. For. Discharge a patient all.medicines for 2.months will be given free of cost.yes if any patient who is poor and unable to. Pay the charges then he may approach patient walfare society usually they born all. Costs of treatment
