Hello everybody,

The COVID-19 crisis inevitably impacts Kuwait, between closed airports or periods of containment in some cities or even the entire country .
We would like to hear from you during this unusual period, to find out what the consequences of this pandemic are on your expatriation or expatriation project in Kuwait.

Does the current crisis call into question your long-term expatriation project?
If you are already settled in Kuwait, do you plan to return to your home country?

How are you living through such an uncertain period, especially if you are far from your loved ones?

Have any of you ended your expatriation in Kuwait expatriation unexpectedly?

Paradoxically, has this crisis brought you closer to some people?

What are your plans for the future?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Hope you are doing well.

Loïc.

The consequances of pandemic covi19 are vital. Due to present lock down and  night curfew and closure of all business except few have impacted the expats by losing jobs or salary reductions. Those who were marginal workers are much in problems. For me there is no problem yet thanks God I live with my family but sitting home idle seems a punishment from  nature whom we disappointed so far by our actions
Yes I do have a plan to go back to my country soon

Dear Loic,
Hope all is well.
Thank you for asking & of course i would like to share my experience due to this new norms of Covid 19, i basically travelled to Syria on 24th of February 2020 as my mom was about to do a surgery and i had to be there for her, cousin came down with me as well so i had a good couple of days i rebooked my arrival flight to Kuwait on the 7th of March when i have received a text message that my flight has been canceled because Kuwait authorities have asked for the PRC test for expats, i went the next day to the central lab and unfortunately we don’t have till test till now, so other 50 ppl have visited the lab & got the same feedback. I rescheduled on the 17th trip was also cancelled due to the virus due to airport closure to commercial flights. So i miss my place i miss my bed, my paintings, my privacy.. unfortunately the situation in General in Syria isn’t really gov. Created something called  smart card there are no gas, lack of electricity and no bread lately, and all other supplies such rice & sugar plus fuel, if ppl don’t Have this card it would be difficult to get supplies, I don’t need it, but when i see how people are suffering u don’t feel home you feel an expat at home. Life is normal in damascus everything is closed except for food & beverage stores. But ppl are careless, people are living normal life, but there was a discrimination into lockdown was according to Damascus province & areas around It, but some were closed down despite it’s further away from the city just because it has more soldiers. I am not happy, i hate my own country because all they do is humiliate us. J can’t wait to go back to Kuwait, pack and leave somewhere more peaceful. I’m not scared anymore of a virus I’m more scared of humanity.

Cheers

Wow Hebah,
I read your reply and it's heart breaking really.
I have many friends now unable to come back to Kuwait after the February holidays.
It happened so fast that they couldn't react.
Anyways, we just pray that this disaster ends soon so we can get out of our homes and live a normal life.
I hope ur mom is feeling better, that's what matters.
The rest will follow inshallah.
Let me know if u need to talk or keep in touch. I am a university professor in Kuwait and going through all the craziness here.
Inshallah will get out of it with a smile and things will get back to normal.

Hebah_34

Thank you so much for your kind reply.
I guess writing down events makes it easier for us to move on. Mom is doing alright much better.. guess i have learnt through this experience truly to appreciate what matters & learn better how to let go. We shouldn’t take this universe for granted. Sure will contact you if i need anything & wish you to stay safe with your beloved ones. Take care & thank you once again for your compassionate message.. ❤️

Cheers

Hey Hiba,
Sorry I didn't introduce myself. Am Dorsaf and am originally from Tunisia living and working in Kuwait.
Am glad you are doing well, at least health wise :)
Things in Kuwait are getting tougher as they did the total lockdown in one areas and scheduled total lockdown in others too. I love in Salmiya, and my area is next on the list for total lockdown and total curfew :(
I was hoping this partial curfew ends and now we are getting ready for the à total one 😂😂😂😂
Seriously this situation is taking long, but I kjow once it's over, people will treat each other better, appreciate life and what they have better and I believe marriages will also increase dramatically as we all know how valuable it is to be with someone in times like that 😂
So what's coming should be exciting to see and live 👍👍👍 👍
Hope you stay safe and patient

Hi Diamond, I also wish the marriages increase, but contrarily the divorce rate has increased in some countries like China and Turkey since the start of coronavirus 🙄

Dear Loic,
Counting my blessings right this very moment and every time I look out my balcony gazing at the stars every night thinking about my loved ones back home in America.. How tough this has been for everyone ..adjustment is hard for most...But it can be achieved with learning and relearning the realm of the possibilities....I'll give give you just a few examples for my adjustment...taking the time to Pray, creating new crazy recipes and I mean I'm cooking from the heart...most importantly I have come to Accept what life has placed on my plate of life!!!
I'm taking Vitamin D a must...intermittent fasting,  cooking awesome vegan recipes, hand down, yes still love my steak!!!.....Seeking God's Help, and making sure I play music Evey day and appreciating God's gifts reaching out to others!

Thanks for your support and God bless you 🙏
Sincerely Jazz.

Diamondd

Oh wow Jazzz,
I like you spirit. I believe music heals the soul and I highly encourage playing music and even dancing at home to de-stress. I do it on my own at times and I feel much better right after.
I guess all of us are coming uo with very creative ideas to survive this period.
Let's continue the good work and we will win 👍

Diamondd

Yeah, I guess people are acared of living together now in fear of catching the virus. It could be temporary divorce until all this ends 😂
Then they will get back together stronger.

ola92

Nice , Hope you are not in mahboula , because you can be bored in thin corner of boredom.

To be honest life has began to change in kuwait and I hope it gets better post COVID-19

I feel really helpless reading about your situation, i cant but imagine the distress you must be feeling knowing fully well that you are far away from what you can call home.Hope your mothers Surgery went well ?
By the way are you under curfew now or you are still going about life as it is, ?

ola92

Different strokes for different folks says the adage. As you fill the void of time and space with music which resonates with you , the quran seem to hav become my only aid in this difficult time,. Without an iota of doubt music brings back ild memories and make one feel alive , but dor me its totally different.

Do you perhaps take to any other activities ?

Smana

Hey all
Lovely to be back again
Hope all of you doing good here
No wonder covid has given a set back
I am sure we will rock again 😊

Diamondd

Hello,
You are back to Kuwait you mean?? Are they allowing non Kuwait is to come back?

jazzTRIBECACUPCAKES

Hello Diamondd!

Today, give yourself permission to be outrageously kind, irrationally warm, improbably generous. I promise it will be a Blast ...by Sasha Dicter

Another inspiring quote...
Please be kind. Look after yourself, your pet, your family, friends and neighbours. Take care
Keep the Vibes going Diamondd ☀💮☀

Diamondd

Heyyyyy,
Thanks for the lovely message Jazz. And speaking of pets, I decided to adopt two kittens of 2 konth and a half. They are my babies now and am taking care of them on a daily bases. Man... They totally distracted me from the topic of corona as they are keeping me busy 24/7 😂
Trust me the cure of corona anxiety is a pet at home. Preferably a baby pet. 😜
My life doesn't look the same with these two angels. I truly love them like a part of me. They are now family. I go shopping for food and toys for them and try new tricks to get them to eat by themselves. End of this week, they will be two months old. YAY!!! I feel like celebrating 😂

Hope you are safe and hope you will find a good place to settle TBH our life as a common people was totally mess by some greedy people who cares about power and we are actually at war in everything thats why all we can do is Pray and Hope that tomorrow we will be okay and not being wasted by such cruelty around us.

As a common people that only hope and dream for a better life and future for our generation we think and wonder what have happen now to the world we are living, i am in Kuwait and this Country is a small state but a big Heart and i am happy i am here but the nation it self now cannot totally control the situation because the people that so called expat like us some really are a violators and we cannot blame them because same like me I am still continue to work as the cases continue to increase and it is not coming down any time soon, and I have bo choose because the management it self force us to complete the work, i just hope the Aviation system will start to operate so we can start to re-think what will be best for us, I understand your situation and so do i , my family dont have the problem about food supply gas and other common stuff to live but seing your neighborhood suffer it is not life that you use to love i start to question why we have this pandemic when the people around me are so good and nice and so loving people and now losses and totally change the way they live, so this pandemic is a chaos and someone or somebody must pay for all of the losses it cause not only economically, Emotionally , and Humanitarial issue that it have impacted.
Sorry I got emotion because so much suffering around my home country Philippines now.
