Internet in PR

Hello all, I was wondering about the quality and speed of available internet connections in PR.  I am fortunate enough to have a job where I work 75% of the time from home, but require a fast internet connection. I have to fly to Boston once a month but surprisingly it is cheaper and faster to fly from San Juan to Boston than from the Southern Midwest where I live. I am considering renting a place in PR for a few months to see how I really like it with the possibility of moving there in the next 3-5 years.

Thanks,

Mike

Unless you're going to live 'in the middle of nowhere' you can get DSL or cable almost everywhere.

Welcome to PR!
It's my guess that you should be able to get cable in Cayey.

The two big cable providers are:

http://www.libertypr.com/ (site is only in Spanish) and

http://onelinkpr.com/portal/ (site in Spanish).

If you can't get cable and need to go for DSL, contact PRT (Puerto Rico Telephone).
Their DMAX site (for DSL) is available in English too: http://www.telefonicapr.com/en/residenc … t/dmax.jsp

Good luck!
