Independence Day festivities

Hey my name is Sean and I just got to Guangzhou.

I was wondering if anybody knew of any Independence day festivities going on here in Guangzhou.
I am American and see that our bash is on a Monday, and for the French their's is on a Thursday.

Neither are prime get together times.

But I was wondering if anyone wanted to get together over one of the weekends for a cook out or something. It wouldn't be a proper 4th if I didn't eat some sort of grilled product.

did you go to the French music festival? it was the weekend before! it was Great!!

Will somebody tell me which independence day is being discussed here ? India's ? Pakistan's? or Bolivar's ?
