See this dashboard if you want to know which region of the island is affected or switch by town and see how many in your town.
*** Please note that the secretary of health did confessed that the numbers are not reliable, apparently a person can get 3 tests and be counted 3 times (2 positives and 1 negative when he gates better) there are also other permutations, they also have an issue that not all the deaths may be due to covid, they are counting them if they had some covid  symptoms and later died but about a 3rd never got a test. Mainly numbers are off due to incompetence, laziness, and fear to get the disease, not political or power, just a bunch of dumb moves.

They are considering recommending to the governor that the lockdown be extended to early June. Probably because they have no idea what the real numbers are.
They have no public data as to covid beds in use, covid patients intubated. I assume the data exist but they are too lazy to call each hospital and ask.

Puerto Rico bought tests which never was approved by FDA. Scammers sold hundred of thousand of tests. Salud still use false serological or antibody tests. Positive results of serological tests he counts like virus. No one real tests for two months. People 80-90 who died Salud count like deaths from coronavirus. The same time epidemic of Dengue start.

PR is one of the safest places to be in the US or elsewhere related to COVID.   All of the testing data is both messed up and irrelevant.

The only reliable measure of the COVID situation is the number of deaths relative to the population.  As of about a week ago in New York, the death rate from COVID was 155 per 100,000 people.  In Chicago, it was about  55.  In Colorado, it was 28, and California it was 18.

In Puerto Rico, it was 5 per 100,000.  Only six states were lower.  Much less to worry about than is carried in the New York centered press.

#covid Update 6/15

Last night they declared 6 new confirmed cases and 47 suspected cases.

They also declared 0 new  covid confirmed death.

There are now 1477 confirmed covid cases to date and 4413 suspected cases.

There are 57 confirmed deaths from covid and 90 suspected. So in total 147 deaths.

There are 104 people hospitalized with covid, of those 2 are on ventilators

Yet people are still very scared. Different polls show that about 60% of the population are against opening the economy.

Population is about 3.2 million, so the number of deaths, the number of confirmed cases are very low. With only 2 people in ventilator, that gives you a good idea.
