Hello,

I know this is a the reverse for this site/forum but I couldn't find resources elsewhere so if you have any please feel free to share. I currently work for a Dutch company in a branch office. I don't want to physically move to NL but I do want to work a remote capable job for the head office directly. Wanted to know if there was information / resources out there for what I / The company needs to do to hire a full time non resident or immigrant employee.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

If your company want you to work for them in the Netherlands, then they will need to sponsor your visa and pay you above a certain wage; there is more to it than that, but I'm guessing that's not what you mean, but you've really told us nothing that enables any of us to provide you with any information.

So some simple things like where are you going to live, where are you hoping to work, what passport you currently hold will help us better inform you.

Hope this helps (if only a little bit).

Hi, Thanks for the welcome.

I want to work for the Dutch company and hold a Dutch contract but I would like to reside in my home country (reverse expat? :) I hold a non European (African) passport so I don't have any bonuses to moving to the NL (trade deals or similar). Our company is registered for HSM so we could go thorough the residency process but I am looking to see if I can work for them without having to shift.

Hi again.

If you're looking at this as a way to live in the Netherlands without getting a residence/work permit - no chance; if they permitted that, you'd have potentially 99% of the African sub-continent turn up in the Netherlands.  If your company want you to work for them in the Netherlands, then they will have to go through the sponsorship route.

If for some reason, you just want to live in Tanzania but have a work contract written in Dutch, then that's entirely up to your company; if they want to offer you terms and conditions the same as a Dutch worker in the Netherlands, while you work for them in Tanzania, it's between them and the Tanzanian government as to whether that's legal.

Hope this helps.
