Has anyone in this forum had a reservation @Four Points, Sheraton and stayed in the hotel? I'm curious about the location, cleanliness and safety of the hotel.
Any meaningful comments regarding the hotel, amenities provided and customer service would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Depending on what you need, it can be a great choice...or not.
I haven't stayed there, but I've been to Happy Hour at the rooftop bar a few times.
It's a fantastic view with a beautiful pool and a good short buffet of bar food for a reasonable price, maybe ₫200,000 VNĐ including a beer, as I recall, which isn't bad for this type of hotel in Vietnam
Very clean and new appearance all the way from the exterior through the lobby and to the rooftop.
I felt the staff was quite attentive and pleasant.
My sense was there is good management there.
The location might be problematic, depending on what you want to do.
That north end of the beach closer to Sơn Trà peninsula (aka "Monkey Mountain") is not as easily accessible or well-kept as Mỹ Khê Beach (aka "China Beach, but don't call it that) on the same coastline to the south.
It's definitely more of a beach for locals; not so much for tourists, so amenities are sparse there but it's also less crowded.
You can't simply walk across the street and walk onto the beach.
There is a long wall of a property blocking access, so you take a short walk (south, as I recall) where there's a sketchy looking path beaten down by locals that will eventually get you out to the sand.
From there the fishing village area is just a short walk and any type of tourist beach definitely ends.
It's the best/closest view of the Lady Buddha statue on the beach
However, you can literally walk for miles south and gradually enter the more (not totally) pristine area of the beach coastline where amenities abound and more businesses cater to foreigners.
You'll probably need to catch a taxi or GRAB car/motorbike rideshare (the app works well in Đà Nẵng) if you want to go out to eat or stroll around a more modern neighborhood.
There is a parking garage and I'm sure you can arrange to rent and park a motorbike here, though I personally would never want to try and navigate the traffic on that street with a bike.
It's definitely a hike from there to the Dragon Bridge area where International travelers are drawn for the nightlife on both sides of the river.
A good friend of mine is (IMO) the best English-speaking tourguide in town and she lives in the neighborhood of the hotel.
If you become a client and are fortunate, she might invite you to dine on delicious home-cooked vegan food in her mother's kitchen
