On dofi the status of visa application change to accord on May 26, 2020. I'm not sure if visa will be stamped on passport or have to wait until situation gets clear because of covid.

Extra info on dofi status:
La décision est en principe envoyée le jour où elle est prise. Un délai de quelques jours peut cependant s'écouler avant sa réception effective par le poste diplomatique ou consulaire.

On immigration website:
Visa application submitted before closure:

The examination of visa applications already submitted continues. However, in the event of a positive decision, the visa will not be issued immediately, except in exceptional cases (essential travel).

Not sure traveling with Visa D is essential or not as it is also mentioned that

The travel restrictions do not apply to:

Nationals of EU Member States and Schengen Member States, for the purposes of returning to their homes;
Third-country nationals who are in possession a residence card (or D-visa) delivered by a Schengen Member State, for the purpose of returning to their homes

If someone recently got passport back with visa stamped during covid 19 pandemic?

Visa are NOT issued for non-essential trip (meaning: returning home, doctor/army/diplomate/...).

At some point, the Embassy will contact you and request flight tickets before setting the visa on the passport.
At that time (in some weeks/few months), the external border should be opened.

Good news!

Applications for visas for family reunification may now be resumed and visas may be issued in the event of a positive decision, but gradually and as far as possible.

Finally my wife got her passport back with visa stamped :-)

Good luck to all those who are still waiting, hope it will be issued soon.

Hello,

My family received  the reunion VISA  recently, can they travel to Belgium via Germany  or France from air bubbles flight?

Regards
Kumar

AlexFromBelgium

But if they did already receive the visa D, it means that you already gave the flight ticket to the embassy so they can put the visa on their passport... :unsure

If they've their visa D + proof of travel to Belgium immediately (24h) to Belgium (train/flight ticket/...).

Hi all!
I applied for Visa D under family reunification for Belgium. Last week the status in iBZ website changed to "Octroi du visa sur production de pièces complémentaires", following which I was asked to submit one additional document by consulate in Delhi, which I did immediately. Can anyone let me know how much more time do they take after this? I went through the comments others had posted and figured out that this status means the decision in foreign office has already been taken and now whatever will happen, will happen from Embassy of Belgium in India. Just want to have an idea on how much time can this tentatively take. Thanks in advance for your time.

We applied for the visa in February, received it in  August. Normally for long term visa flight ticket is not required.

Aneesh

It usually takes 7 days max.

Normally, you can have a connection through another country in schengen area. Not sure if the current restrictions have any issues. You should check the Covid travel restrictions for the country you plan to connect through. For instance, in the DOFI website, it says, travelers who are connecting to another schengen country are allowed to fly through Belgium.

Since family reunification with someone who is in EU already is exempt from restrictions, you are probably able to connect. But check government websites for the specific country.

Hi Aneesh

Thanks a lot for your reply Aneesh. I got mail from VFS that my passport has been dispatched. Luckily, I am receiving the decision on my family reunification Visa within 1 month of application. Maybe due to low number of applicants during the Covid situation. Hopefully I can travel soon now

Aneesh

Hello Kumar,

As mentioned already, you need to read the covid travel guidelines of the country that you will land.

Krishnakshi,

Congrats !!

1. I am just scheduling an appointment, could you please mention which extra document they asked for.
2. Do they keep the passport when applying for a long term visa.

Krishnakshi

Hi.

1. Basically they made a mistake in looking at my document. My travel insurance was for 110 days (I just selected randomly from the date of application in July mid till October end). But they said it should be for minimum 90 days🙄. The person who called from the the Embassy in India, the moment he told me this, I replied that it's for so and so date, which makes it more than that for 90 days. Then he himself agreed that ok sorry maybe they didn't see it correctly. So to be on the safer side, I emailed them the insurance documents again, highlighting the date, and they gave me the visa in 4 days (including a weekend in between).
2. Yes they keep your passport plus all documents in original, like Birth certificate, Marriage certificate, Medical certificate, PCC, everything. But I read somewere that in case you need them back, you can ask for it after 15 days or so. Not sure, please check in the websites. I didn't have to ask because my decision came early and in between I didn't have need for any of it.

Hope that answers your queries. Good luck.

Congratulations.
Could I ask that did you apply the application alone or with your husband’s application in the same time?

Krishnakshi

Hi. I applied alone, my husband is there since Dec 2019.

Hi, I don’t know what is the number I can use to search the visa status.
The embassy gives me six numbers, is it? They don’t say anything about it.
My application has been forwarded to embassy on 07/09, but until now I can’t search the status on the immigration website.

sm20

You can only search status on DOFI website if your visa application is forwarded to the ministry (immigration office) and they register your application on the website. It takes some time for them to register the application as well. Give it some time. It’s only been a week.

Does anyone receive their visa in recent days?

montylee

I am applying for D visa for myself and my family together. Visa agent has asked me to fill occupation as "Student" for my 6 year old daughter. As soon as i select Student as occupation, the visa form is asking for further details like school name, address, phone number etc.

So, what occupation should i fill in the form for my 6 year old minor daughter: student or accompanied minor? I am filing 'accompanied minor' for my 1 year old daughter.

AlexFromBelgium

Accompanied minor Visa in your case...
They obviously know that the child will go to school as soon as you arrive in Belgium.
Meaning that she'll have a special BNL code written on the remark in her visa (accompanied minor)

Student Visa is for peoples that want to attend universities/else alone..... but not in the context of a hole family moving to Belgium.
==> Children are in your care and depend on you (your money/job)

montylee

Update: I filled my daughter's occupation as 'Student' as advised by my visa agent. Got a NOC from her school and visa was granted.

Can someone explain what is 'My Rent - attestation' document required to be submitted for Spouse Reunion VISA.

Note - I have already submitted my Rent agreement but received a call from embassy asking for the above document.

Aneesh

You need to register the rent agreement in myrent.be and give them the attestation showing that your rental agreement is registered.
