Paying IMI from UK bank

Post new topic

Bob Mark

Good morning

I paid my IMI for our house in Tavira by bank transfer from the UK a week or so ago, as per the very helpful instructions in English from SF Tavira. This is the first time I have paid it this way, as opposed to in cash in the office there.

The bank transfer has gone through but is not yet showing as paid on my page on the portaldasfinancas website.

Does anyone have any idea how long it would normally take for this to happen?

Many thanks

Bob

From a portuguese bank account it will take 3 or 4 days maximum to appears as Paid (in the website it appears like 4-Paga). From a uk bank account, it will take longer than a week for sure, depending on how long your bank takes to transmit the payments file to the portuguese transfer processor SIBS, and then the time that SIBS takes to process it to the Finance AT system & Finance supporting portuguese bank.

AT Website options:
Serviços/ Imposto Municipal sobre imóveis/  Consultar notas de cobrança/ year 2019
(2019 if paid in 2020, always refered to the previous year, like IRS and other taxes)
