Hi Tony,

Hope that you are doing well

If you are looking for an affordable accommodation next to the beach, near restaurants/bars/supermarkets and in a calm area, then i guess that you can Flic en Flac can meet your expectations.
Moreover, expats usually choose Flic en Flac or the north of the island (Pereybere, Grand Bay ) to settle.  :idontagree:

There are actually a few offers in flic en flac and i think that you can easily find an accommodation there.
For further information, i invite you to go through the Mauritius expat guide > Accommodation in Mauritius. It can be of great help for you.

I also invite you to post an ad for your search in the housing in Mauritius section, it is free of charge and can give your search much more visibility.
This housing portal can also help you : https://www.lexpressproperty.com/en/ . You will find several accommodation offers in Flic en Flac.

Finally, if you wish to be assisted by a professional, you can also get in touch with a real estate agency. There are a few contacts in the Mauritius business directory : https://www.expat.com/en/business/africa/mauritius/

Hope all these information will help you.
If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask them on the forum.

Thanks,

Priscilla
