Hi-
Am looking for a referral for a Notary Public in Rio.
US Consulate usually provides same but not during the pandemic.
To clarify: not looking for a cartorio nor a “ virtual notary”.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Cartórios notarize documents in English.

This is true and has done such several times.
Only one issue was a US bank did not recognize their documents notarized by a BR notary.

I never had an issue with cartórios attaching their stamps and signature on US documents. That´s the way it should be because the contents are not really the issue but YOU as known to them through
your cadastro is indeed the same person performing the action... Notary publics don´t really read the contents but verify your ID and other documents if it´s genuine and just attach their seal/stamp and their signature.

As said only one issue was Bank's TOD form which was notarized at cartório's office. Bank's legal dept sais no. I objected and advised all other accounts were TOD or under my Will.
I will work around it next trip to the US.
