Hello,

I have just left a property in Waterloo. We were not able to be there for the exit survey. The surveyor has included estimates for damage from the last tenants. The estimate has come to much more than our security deposit. Can they take whatever they want or is it restricted to the deposit amount?
Also is there a legal timeline to pay everything?

Now you are in the following situation "Absentees are always wrong!"

There is no time limit for payment. The landlord can even sue you if the amount exceeds the financial deposit. And you will automatically lose.
