Housing: Is it feasible?

I am moving to Eindhoven starting October. My employer is giving me housing for first three months. During this period, ideally, I would like to buy a house and move into the house by January 1st. I have heard that if you have a permanent job, it's not hard to get mortgages in the first few months of arrival to the Netherlands.

Hence my question: is it feasible to buy your own house within first three months of arrival to NL?

Any mortgage brokers or real estate agents on the website who can provide insights?

Hi again.

Are they giving you a house for 3 months, or paying the first 3 months rental for something you find?  There's a massive difference and many Expats only stay for a limited time and you are then stuck with a house you need to sell and potentially lose money on.  It's possible I guess, it very much depends on you and your situation.  To begin with, as a newly arrived person, you will have no credit history and you can't even open a Dutch bank account until you have registered as being resident and received your BSN number; in this COVID environment, this could take a couple of weeks as many civil servants are working from home, you won't know until you try it.  In anticipation of your next question, no, you can't do any of this prior to your arrival.

The most you can borrow is 100% of the actual value of the house, this may not be the actual buying price and the number is set by an independent inspection by an evaluator who is appointed by your mortgage company; this may cause you an issue as you may have a difference that you will need to fund with your own money; don't forget you will also need to decorate the place and replace all the light fittings before you can move in.  The message here is all this takes time and is probably something you can do without in the first 3 months of starting a new job.  If you are determined to buy, then perhaps an Airbnb for 6 months is a better option, speak to your company and see how flexible they are.

Hi,
just adding.

Yeah, buy in the first three months I think is a little crazy. As my experience this month, Nederlandse housing market is a little complicate.
And don't forget you need a valid address to be register, and get your BSN.

About the banking, you can get an account without the BSN, but it will be and Expat account, with your old country TIN (Tax number). So no credit, just an account number to start your utilities, etc.
