I'm planning a trip pretty soon to Las Terrenas and started wondering if there is any night life at all during these difficult times. I don't want to be surrounded by a large number of people, but catching a drink after 5 or 7 pm would be nice. Any info out there?

Having just left DR I would not travel until matters are much more contained.  There is still no evidence that things are under control.  In fact anyone travelling anywhere at the moment do it with risks attached.

Curfew is in place.  Timing may change soon but count on nothing open after 7 or 8 weekdays and 5 pm weekends I believe for that area.

We have been low on testing so recent results may not reflect actual cases.

New tests arrived and they are ramping up testing.  Hopefully soon we will know more.

DR is the only country I know of that has curfew in place. I travel through Europe And Canada  and I see much of life getting back to normal. Face masks are worn and all the other precautions are in place. Rather than killing the economy they are trying to restart it.

In LT, the curfew is 8:00 each night. The restaurants can now deliver until 11 with special permits for workers and delivery people to be out past curfew.

As others have said, I wouldn't recommend risking the travel for vacation. While LT and Samana have not been impacted as much as the capital and other large cities, we have a ton of folks here on the weekends from Santo Domingo and Santiago potentially bringing COVID with them!

Gee Stan did you miss the part where those countries got it under control FIRST?

Thanks everyone.

Every country is different and until DR learns about discipline, I believe curfews are essential.  One should not compare DR to other countries
