Hello..My name is Amina..I just moved to KL from USA few days ago with my family. My husband works for AWS. I have 2 kids, 12 and 6 year old. Right now we are in the quarantine center. I am completely new to KL. Hoping to make new friends for myself as well as for my kids. I am planning to enroll my 7th grader in K12 private international academy and still need to find a good affordable international school for my 1st grader. Has anyone had an experience with K12? And any recommendations on international school for first grader? Which area would you recommend for living? Would really appreciate your inputs..

Thank you!!!!!

Bangsar was the last area that I lived at. It is quite close to the city (about 10 -15 minutes), not too crowded, quite safe, it has shopping malls, lots of restaurants, banks, post office, bakeries etc and it has quite a lot of foreigners living in the area. It's a nice residential area. Also, it is a few minutes away from Mid-Valley Megamall which is one of the largest malls in KL. It is roughly 30 minutes drive away from several international schools but that depends on the traffic.

However, you should perhaps decide on the school first and then choose the area for living.

Mont Kiara, Desa ParkCity, Bangsar are popular communities amongst expats.  They are relatively safe, convenient, with many IS choices nearby.

Hi everyone, my name is Vidal, My wife and I moved Since July.  We're lucky because we stayed in a good hotel for quarantine, We got food ordered by grab (the most useful app in Malaysia). Meanwhile we're in quarantine my wife was working online because the school started first week of August, at the same time I was doing some videos from China. Beside we did some work out by morning, and we cooked our on food at night.  After 13 days we did the test again to confirm negative result. We looked for and apartment close to the school, it is good option because the traffic jam.  Now we're good in the apartment, walking distance to the school and 10 minutes away to the city. Malaysia is a Safe place to live.
