Im wondering is it cheaper to get a 1 year Visa before i come there. according to the filipino embassy website the price is $90 for a year visa

Given the trips to immigration  and possible run around that you may get here, I think that sounds like a bargain price

Hi Tariq, I can't comment on the visa from the states but I got a 12 month visa from Australia 8 years ago, was AU 140.00. It was a multi entry visa which meant I had to leave the country every 59 days, I did this once through that period and ended up at immi every 59 days there after so for me it turned out a waste of money, check the requirements of the 1 year visa you can get there. Good luck.

Cheers, Steve.

yes its a 1 year multi entry Visa. i wasnt 100% sure what that meant but i see its cheaper to get a regular 90 day Visa before i come and deal with the extensions afterwards

I got a 6 months Visa extension when I reach phillipines.  I think this a better option.

I would suggest that whatever visa you are qualified to apply for, submit / accomplish and complete the requirements, as much as you can, at your nearest Philippine embassy or consulate.  This would help minimize legwork here in the Philippines (which mighr cost you more here due  to cab fare / commute to and from immigration) and  avoid the heat (which can get as high as 42 degrees celsius especially during summer months).

Before we moved here, we completed all the requirements at the Consulate in San Francisco for a non-quota immigrant visa for my husband. When we got here, all he needed to do was get his ACR card and go through some medical tests. But to do that, we had to go back and forth to two separate buildings in the July heat. (That was over 10 years ago. I don't know if things are more streamlined now.) It was so HOT ouside! I was not yet used to the heat. I felt like I waa going to faint.

Complete all the forms as much as you can there in the states before coming here.

My 2 cents.

better to check with PH embassy where you are at regarding what they mean by "multi entry visa", you can land and they give you 59 days and you have to leave again and return ? by leaving, get on plane and go somewhere then come back.

If that is the case, then you are better off  a 9A visa AKA tourist visa, then whatever time they stamp on your passport, head to a immg satellite office on or before that expire date and renew your visa for maximum extensions total no more than 2 years or 3 years.

I got my one year multi entry Visa from the Philippines Embassy in Washington DC back in 2018.  You can only stay for 59 days  at a time, but can return on the same Visa.

I understand these Visas were suspended due to CV19.

I am not sure if you area aware, but you cannot any longer get a visa on arrival.  The visa as to be applied for from your origin of destination - the UK cost 82 GBP.

Only spouses of Filipino citizens can apply for the visas currently and you must provide proof as part of your application for the visa.  On arrival you have to present the visa which is inserted into your passport along with the current COVID 19 documentation.

The visa is valid for 59 days and can be renewed in the Philippines once you have arrived.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you do arrive at the airport without the visa you will be refused entrance like many others and will be required to return to your place of departure.
