Hi and welcome to the Forum.

At the top of this page is a link to our Discover section; if you mouse over that, you'll get access to our Discover Greece guide, which may answer some of the questions you may have now or in the future.

With regards to costs, the Numbeo website can provide you with a wealth of information about many things, including costs of living; this link will take you straight there.  The numbers are a bit behind, so are really indicative rather than bang up to date.

Friends and socialising, try using social media, there are groups in Facebook that you can reach out to.

My experience was it was a really nice place to be, I must temper that with it was a long time ago and I landed in the middle of a Greek military coup, which was a bit different.  Then on day 2, a scorpion moved into my sock drawer, but apart from that, it was OK.

Your major problem will be finding work if you don't speak the local language, also, if there are any vacancies; you should be aware that Greece has a significant issue with asylum seekers who will be competing with you in the job market.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Did you ever make the move? Do you like it here in Thessaloniki?

Cocomelon

I like Thessaloniki and I would love to see other places

I think that I will have to take a vacation first to really discover the beauty of the country and to help me make a decision as to where I will live.

Thanks for your feedback.
