Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. I lived in The Netherlands from 2001 until 2011 with my (British) ex-husband. For four of those years I worked in education. After leaving the country, I stupidly didn’t give any thought to pensions and now I’m getting older, it’s starting to become more important. 🙈

All I have from my time living there is my Sofi number, which I understand has now been renamed, and of course the details of my employment, employment address, my former home address etc. Where do I even start to get in touch with the relevant bodies to ask what I will eventually be eligible for?  I know I paid into an ABP Pension and that as I lived in the country for ten years, I may be eligible for some form of old age pension when I reach 67.

Does anyone have any advice as to where I should start?  Do I contact the Gemeente? At this stage, I’m simply interested in registering my current address In the UK and possibly a rough projection of any pension I will receive in the future.

Thanks to anyone who can help 😊

You will get your pension when you are 67. You paid for it so you will get it.
