Employment ËP "Deferral stage"

GuestPoster302

I have applied for new EP through a new company, the EP was already shortened. The company applied and the it was retuned after few days  needing documents for "justification of the expatriate". The company already submitted the documents and with 1 day the status goes to  "deferral", Does that mean it would be returned again, or possibility of approval. I have been working in Malaysia for 5 years, and now switching job. This is first time i am seeing this.

Hi,

Though I have never heard it and wish nobody has to hear that, I'd like to know which sector u r talking about? is it through MDEC? Did your employer have expat quota approved already?

Wish you best of luck, hope it is sorted soon.

I am in Electronics engineering, and have over 20 years of experience, last 5 years in Malaysia, Its not trough MDEC, its through ESD, and employer has an expat quota already approved from what i know. I just don't know what this means and what would they want next?

So I believe its not an MSC status company because MSC goes to MDEC. Just check if they really have expat quota with them or not.  I assume some lack of paperwork from ur employer and hopefully it will be sorted out.

These are very uncertain times for expats. I hv just today resigned and starting the process.

Its an American MNC company in Malaysia, so i don't think its MSC status, it goes through ESD. I have confirmed with the vendor who applied on behalf of the company and told me that they have quota, there over 5000 employees in Malaysia in that company, I hope that is so simple like that, we have already submitted the documents, and now waiting to see what happens next.

where are you in Malaysia, and the new company is MSC status for you?
