Getting together with a book club night

Post new topic

Radwan85

Hello dear expats in Erbil . I'm new here . Abd I love discussing books with others specially expats . My choice is a gathering for expats to discuss how much kurdi have you learnt so far ?!
I find most of expats here either not interested or lazy to learn the language . Let's meet and share our stories over a warm cup of coffee . Message me if you are interested . And I will come back to you with the details.

Ciambella

That's a bit harsh, isn't it, to call people whom you've never met lazy just because they don't want to learn a language spoken by only 30 million people?

The title of your thread is misleading also.  You have no desire to form a book club to discuss the books other people read, do you?

Alexx9090

Yes, I agree with you. misleading headline

Radwan85

Yes you are right . I always do this . Divert from my first idea.  But tbh not many expats here speak the language . Almost all the guys I've met from my own country dont despite spending over6 months for the most of them.
I am into books more than I am into languages . So what do u suggest ?

Cheryl

Hello Radwan85,

Dear ciambella,

Kindly respect the Kurds and those of Erbil using Kurdish, we are proud of our native Kurdish language if it is even used by one perso on planet Earth! Yes the people are with all due respect unfortunately lazy and they do not put efforts to learn Kurdish!!
