Question about living in the Netherlands

Hi all, I'm new to the forum... I just moved to the Netherlands 2 months ago working in logistics through work agencies. The jobs aren't great but they pay the rent for now, the agency is a bad one that I don't like... I found better jobs through other agencies but to do this I need a private house  as these better agencies don't offer accommodation with the job. Currently i work through an agency and I have a so called phase A contract which I understood from other people no one would take in consideration when trying to rent something private. Now in this situation what can I do to be able to rent out a place?

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The Phase contract system is a pathway for agency workers to secure employment rights in the Netherlands, you can read about it here.

The problem with these contracts is that they can be cancelled at any time and the problem the landlord has with this is that he won't get his rent if you don't have a job.  This isn't helped by their being a general shortage of rental accommodation across the whole country.

The Dutch have Housing Associations (Woningbouw); this link will take you to a Google search for ones around Tilburg, my advice is to contact them to make an appointment to register.  A word of warning, the influx of asylum seekers into the Netherlands has placed great pressure on these associations and many closed their books to anybody not in need of social support, so as you have somewhere to live, your need may not be enough to qualify, anyway, talk to them and get their advice.

Hope this helps.
