What are your end of year plans amidst the crisis in the US?

Hello everyone!

I hope you are well.

As the year is ending, many countries went back into lockdown.

Obviously, the end of year celebrations are going to be different amidst the global health crisis.

As an expat in the USA, what are your end of year plans?

Are you considering a small family gathering, or would you rather keep your distance?

Are you planning to stay in the USA or to go back home?

Feel free to reply on this thread or to send me a PM.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,

Hi

I am not an expat in the USA. I am a Citizen of the USA.
Several states have created a policy of lock down , masks and no crowd gathering etc.
This looks like a farce. The politicians create rules for the masses and they conveniently ignore their own rules.
The problem of the pandemic has become so politized by the Democratic Socialist Party.
For them the problem is Donald Trump. Any thing bad happens to the country its Trumps fault.
They cannot beat him in any way or form, therefore they move on to tactics like false news or fake news. The news media in the USA is moribund. Therefore regular people look for alternate sources such as Breitbart or News Max .
It is incumbent upon our selves to take action.
ie. Wash hands , stay out of crowded places, since Corvid spreads via someone's saliva or when they sneeze.  Just use common sense to stay out of trouble and ignore the politicians.
As for me, I have a medical condition that my immune system is controlled by medications. So I rarely go out and mingle and I work from home.
My only concern is how Christmas is going to be. No carols, no services except on line. Well that's life for the next few weeks or perhaps a month. The vaccine will be distributed next week. That will open up the shops, businesses and the rest.
2020 has been a crazy year. 2021 will be great with a caveat - Biden. If his election stealing stands then we will be in trouble. This will not be the United States I know.

Honestly, I’m glad Trump is out. He is responsible for this debacle. People who get their info from breitbart or newsmax are ignorant people who enjoy pain and like to complain about others. We need to do like the Chinese. Lock down if necessary , enforce distancing and masks and work to distribute free vaccines. Right now we are in survival mode but Americans needed this slow down to get in touch with their lives.

Some folks have to get their political view into every sentence, do they not?

Christmas will be quiet and peaceful. Very good food and wine, roaring fire and good company. New Year will be meeting with neighbors on the street to shoot fireworks. Several magnums are ready to go on ice!
